Description
The spectacular Buff Laced Brahma chicken is a recent creation of Dan Powell of Wisconsin, introduced in the year 2000. This rare and beautiful breed has golden buff feathers set off by creamy white lacing.
Not yet a standard American Poultry Association variety, Buff Laced Brahmas resemble other Brahmas in being gentle and easygoing. They get along well with other breeds, making them a suitable choice for a mixed flock.
Brahmas tolerate confinement well, and are adaptable to a variety of environments. They are also good foragers that enjoy roaming where they have ample opportunity to peck and scratch.
Buff Laced Brahmas are particularly winter hardy. However, their abundant and attractive leg feathering tends to accumulate mud and snow, requiring a bit of maintenance during wet or wintry conditions.
